Marulabs BEP 3.0 instrument conversion box for BMW K75 and K100

Makes it easier to replace the spedometer on a BMW K75 and K100

The Marulabs BEP 3.0 was developed for people looking to replace the original cockpit of their K1, K75, K100, or K1100 bike with a speedo of a third-party manufacturer. Also known as a "Lunch Box”  the BEP 3.0 makes installing an aftermarket gaugue stress-free and solder free. No alterations to the wiring harness or modifications of the vehicle are required. Simply plug in and go!

The BEP 3.0 fulfills other essential functions for the K Bike that enables the bike to work the bike in the first place. When simply installing a non-stock replacement speedo (without BEP 3.0) then you lose the following functionality:

• The starter push-button cannot be used anymore (only with applied clutch)
• Signal for the neutral light cannot be picked off at the wiring harness
• The speed signal from the final drive is unavailable
• The emergency fuel tank warning light does not work
• The automatic turn signal resetting does not work
• The battery will no longer be charged

The BEP 3.0 accomplishes all these tasks with compact circuitry.

The Lunch Box also decrypts signals (the speedo signal from the final drive) and sends out signals itself (low fuel warning, starter push-button, generator, automatic turn signal switch shutoff etc…).

Note: If your fuel tank is not equipped with a float then the level sensor of your speedo will not function either. In this case, only a fuel warning light (being triggered when you have 4L of fuel left) can be used instead.

EMERGENCY MODE

Even if no third-party manufacturer speedometer is connected, the BEP 3.0 accomplishes the full range of essential functions such as closing of the charging circuit generator/battery, turn signal, resetting or ensuring a well-functioning starter push-button

GEAR INDICATOR

The BEP 3.0 is equipped with one outlet for each gear. This allows use of individual gear indicators with the installation of an array of LEDs. For use with ACEWELL instruments that include a gear indicator, it is calculated by rpm and speed, so the BEP 3.0 is a perfect solution! A corresponding manual for programming the gear indicator is included.

Please locate installation well protected from the weather. Electronics are sensitive to water. Your K series Bike always has space for electronic parts below the fuel tank. The wiring harness can be connected with ease. The speedo wires simply have to be connected to the respective outlets. The WAGO connectors used are highly vibration-resistant. No soldering bits nor barrel connectors are required.

Which plug type?

The only thing you have to check is whicht kind of wiring harness plug your K-series bike is equipped with. The K series bikes have one of two types of plugs, one with round connector pins which has a a one piece black connector, or a connector with angular pins, which has a two piece white plug. The Marulabs BEP 3.0 can connecto to either plug type.
